it seems like a cleistothecia ascocarp but in fact, it envolved from apothecia to reduce water loss and more stable moisture and temperature which can adapt animal dispersal well!

The photo is very clear that it shows very tiny and subtle structures of an ascopore and surrounding tissues.

Replying the comment from Lee_TomChun Wa.

The tuber's truffle evolved from apothecia can reduce water loss as it has a lower surface area to volume ratio to help them keep more stable moisture and temperature.

Also, there are two main reasons for tuber's truffle to adapt to animal dispersal. First, it has special odors, volatile constituents responsible for the natural aroma that attract the disperser. Second, it is durable as it has thick-walled spores that remain unharmed after passing through the digestive tract of the disperser like the trained pigs and dogs.

Q) How can we train the pigs or dog to find out the tuber's truffles?
