There photos showing the flowers and shoot of Taiwan Acacia. It is monoecious with bisexual flowers. The flowers are head inflorescence and born at the leaf axils with radial symmetry. Their calyx is 5-lobed with funnelform and the 5 petals are green in color. Apart from that, it has yellowish numerous stamens and one superior ovary. The ovary is marginal with only one locule.

The leaves of Taiwan Acacia is interesting. Only young trees develop "true leaves" which are bipinnate compound leaves. However, when mature, the leaf blade will change into flattened and photosynthetic petioles called phyllodes.

I release that there are many Taiwan Acacia was planted by the government. They can be found everywhere even in the countryside. I am wondering why Taiwan Acacia will be a popular tree for reforestation. On the other hand, it seems that they are not so common in other counties. Is there any reason behind that? (or is it just a wrong impression?)
