Euphorbia pulcherrima is in the family Euphorbiaceae, it is also known as Christmas flower. The flower inflorescence is cyathium, which consists of the bracts enclosing the reduced male flowers and one female flower and they are shown in the pictures. It should be noted that the red petal-like structures are not the petals but the bracts. You can also see that it has a superior ovary, as the ovary is located above the attachment point of other floral parts.

This species is known for the Christmas floral display as it has an attractive color of the bract and flowers. In the past, people thought this species is very dangerous, as rumors of this plant killing people spread. However, its toxicity is overexaggerated though it may cause minor adverse effects.

But what type of pollination does this species have? It is insect-pollinated by using its bracts and flowers to attract insects?
