Common name: Song of India/Jamaica Family: Asparagaceae Native range: Mozambique, Madagascar, Mauritius, and other nearby islands of the Indian Ocean Function: ornamental Leaves: lanceolate, simple, spirally arranged Inflorescence: small and clustered, usually in white colour (however, no flower buds in the picture were opened hence colour cannot be observed) Fun Facts: The colours of the leaves are the main reason this species is chosen to be an ornamental plant instead of the flowers, which is small and less noticeable.
