A. sativa is a species of Poaceae. It is a herb with alternate and simple leaves. It is monoecious with flowers in the form of floret. Each spikelet has 2-3 florets. It fruits caryopsis.

Oat is common in our meal. It has high protein among common cereals. It is regarded as healthy food as they can lower the low-density lipoprotein cholesterol level.

Question. Can it be main diet for most people especially for overweighted people? Can it replace rice which is main carbohydrate for many Asian but rice is not healthy food as it is just "a bag of sugar" when we digest it.
