Casuarina equisetifolia L. 木麻黃 is commonly known as Horsetail Tree, Ironwood and Casuarina.

Sex: Monoecious or Dioecious

Leaf type: Simple
Leaf arrangement: Whorled

Fruit type: Samara
Fruit: Dry & Multiple

Supplementary information:
1. endosymbiosis with nitrogen-fixing bacteria of the genus Frankia
2. branchlet instead of leaf are the major photosynthetic organ
