Description

Neomarica gracilis, common name Walking Iris, is a ornamental plant species under Family Iridaceae of Monocot.

The prominent feature of this family is the equitant leaves which are overlapping and flatten like a fan shape at base.

As they are monocots, they have linear leaf with parallel veins.
Despite the beautiful flower of this plant, they are regarded as "one-day flower". Since the inflorescence will only blossom for a short period of time (less than a day).

They are slightly toxic, but they can be used as fragrant in perfume.

Spathe-like bracts are not clearly shown from the photo.
