Description

Basic information:
-Family: Palmae(Arecaceae)
-This species originate from southern China, Southern Japan and Vietnam.
-In HK, it is commonly found in Vitoria peakVegetative features:
-Leaves are generally pinnately divided
-Leaves are spirally arranged at the top of the stem
-Leaves are large and evergreen

-Stem is columnar and they seldom branch off
-Stem is thickened by the leaf scars

-they bears berry fruits


Interesting fact:
-In traditional Chinese society, people use the leaf of this species to make hats and fans
