Description

Lantana camara belongs to family Verbenaceae. The colour of flowers changed when they are aged. Younger flowers locate at the middle and are yellow, while older flowers locate at the surrounding and are pink. It is a guide for pollinators to pollinate more the middle younger flowers and less the older flowers as older flowers are probably pollinated already. Their influoresence is umbel.

The inflorescence should be described as 'Capitula terminal', not umbel as they are sessile flowers.

Can you explain why yellow colour can attract the pollinators more?
