Description

Gladiolus gandavensis is in the family Iridaceae. It has monoecious flowers with radial symmetry. It has 6 tepals, 3 stamens, 1 style with 3 stigmas and inferior ovary with 3 carpels which have also shown in the above pictures. It is in hypanthium arrangement and the ovary is in axile placentation.

A longitudinal cut of the whole flower, not just the bottom part, will help to show the features 'inferior ovary' and 'hypanthium'.
