Description
Basidiospores are reproductive exospore growing on cup-shape basidium in the phylum Basidiomycota, in which basidiospores can be the unique feature of basidiomycete in species identification. In most of the case, basidia bear four basidiospores.

Informative description!
Pls note that the types of basidia can be used for the species identification (which will be mentioned next semester in the lecture BIOL3550, I guess) while basidiospores are present in all members of Basidiomycota, not only basidiomycetes.
