Description

Female strobilus of Gnetum, a gnetophye. The immature drupelike seed consists of the ovule surrounded by a fleshy false seed coat, which is formed by fusing the outer integument layer with the false perianth. Will you regard it as a fruit? By what means the seeds get dispersed?
