Description

Lichen is the symbiosis of alage and fungi. Alage provide photosynthetic products to fungi and fungi provide mineral nutrients ,prevent desiccation of photobiont and screen excessive light for alage. This lichen belongs to crustose. Crustose is flattened in shape and is less sensitive to air pollutants when compared to foliose and fruticose.
