It is a fungus belonging to Order Aphyllophorales under Class Basidiomycotina. It is found near the base of a tree. This picture is taken in late November and it is seen that the fungus has dried, which may reveal that the environmental conditions of winter e.g. coolness may not be suitable for this fungus' growth. Despite this, the external structure can still be observed.
