Description

Ligulate are tongue like corolla. It is ray floret in Asteraceae. The tubular flower in the middle of head and ringed by the ligulate flower. It is look like a petal but actually the one this petal like structure represents one flower. The white part is pappus. It is a modified calyx.

Which white part did you refer to? The white tongue like structures are the corolla of ligulate florets. The pappus is not seen clearly from the picture, if any.
