Description
A flower head or capitulum is a compact raceme. The sessile flowers of capitulum are arranged on a surface(enlarged stem) This capitulum is commonly found in Compositae(菊科). Two types of flower can be found in given photo. Ligulate flowers(舌狀花) are at the edge of the capitulum. Note that the petal-like structures are the corollas of the ligulate flowers. Tubular flowers(管狀花) posses tubular corolla which is much smaller than ligulate corolla.
