Description

Zygomycete is commonly known as one of the true fungi, also the lower fungi. Both photos are zygomycete Rhizopus under sexual stage. The right one is in earlier stage that the gametangia start approaching and contact to each other. The left one showing that the cell wall of gametangia broke down and the two gametangia fuse together to form a zygosporangium, which is the big black ball shown in the photo.

Good idea to show different stages of the same type of structures side by side!
Detail description!
Yet the cross wall between two gametangia are not clearly shown...not sure if they have fused or not.
