Can you tell more about the zygosporangium? What type of fungi does Rhizopus belong to?

Rhizopus sp. belongs to zygomycetes which are true fungi. During extreme environmental conditions, such as dryness, shortage of food or mere presence of opposite mating type, the gametangia will undergo plasmogamy to form zygosporangium. It has a thick, tough wall, and can remain dormant for months. When the condition becomes favourable, the zygosporangium will undergo karyogamy and germinates sporangium, which can produce haploid spores for dispersal.
