Description

Puccinia graminis belongs to basidiomycota. Rust appears on the stems of infected wheat plants. Its life cycle is heteroecious. Dikaryotic mycilia of pycnia grow down to the underside of barberry leafs to form aecial cups. Chains of dikaryotic aeciospores (n+n) in aecia are released to infect wheat to form uredinia.
