Description

Anthoceros is a genus of hornworts in the phylum Anthocerophyta. The haploid gametophyte stage is dominant to sporophyte. This stage usually grows as a thin rosette-like thallus. This photo shows a single large, flat chloroplast with a prominent, doughnut-shaped pyrenoid and absence of oil body in each thallus cell.

The specimen shown does not belong to anthoceros but another hornwort genus Notothylas.
