Well-done!

I have "moved" your label epidermis to another region for clarity.

For the hydroids, they are responsible to transport water, and they are non-lining at maturity.

For the leptoids, they are responsible to transport food, and they are living protoplasts but with degenerate nuclei at maturity.

Question: As we may see, the arrangement of leptom and hadrom is very similar to the arrangement of xylem and phloem in vascular plant. Can we propose that polytrichum is the ancestor of vascular plant?
