Description

The upper photo shows the umbel inflorescence from Lantana camara, which consists of a number of short flower stalks (pedicels) which spread from a common point and each colorful flower attached at the top of the pedicels.

The lower photo shows the fruits of Smilax china. The fruits should come from the flowers, and each fruit attached at the top of the pedicels  and the arrangement of fruits shows like umbrella ribs which indicate the inflorescence of Smilax china should be umbel.
