Description
Legume is a type of dry fruit. It contains many seeds in each individual locule which is the product of unicarpellate ovary. The locule splits along two sutures when it matures. Loment is kind of legume in which it is dehiscing by 2 transverse sutures while legume is dehiscing by 2 longitudinal sutures. One distinct feature that allow us to distinguish loment from legume is the constrictions around each seed in loment. There are no constrictions in legume.
