Description

This photo shows a strawberry, which is an aggregate fruit. Aggregate fruit consist of a number of separate carpels of one gynoecium of a single flower. Each carpel produce a fruitlet.

Achene: the seed in this type of fruit is achene. Each achene is a small dry hard one-seeded fruit in which the pericarp closely surrounds the seed but is clearly separate from it. 

Receptacle: the thickened part of a stem (pedicel) where the flower arise. It is the juicy and edible part of this fruit.

Sepal: used for protection of the flower in bud stage and support the petals.
