Are ascospores endospores or exospores? Are they diploid, haploid or dikaryotic?

Ascospores are haploid endospores.
Different from what I observed in the laboratory, in which asci overlapping each other, this photo shows distinct asci. We can easily tell the number of ascospores inside the asci.

We will look into the issue. We did order new slides time to time but it's hard to find good slides.

Q) Dear Dr. Chow, what stain has been used to view the asci and ascospores?
Ascus has a dikaryotic stage (n+n) after which fertilization (2n) occurs. Then meiosis happens to produce four (n) ascospores followed by a round of mitosis usually to produce eight (n) ascospores in the ascus.
