Description

Prunus Persica, the rather small short-lived tree, grow fruit through self-pollination. The fruit of P. Persica, which is commonly named as peach, shown in the picture is a drupe with bony endocarp surrounding the single large ovulated seed. The fleshy part, which is mesocarp, can be white, yellow or red in color.
