Description

Morchella is a genus under Ascomycota, which is characterized by the presence of asci and ascospores in the sexual reproductive stage.
The photo shows a number of asci growing from dikaryotic(or some haploid) hyphae, and each ascus typically contains 8 haploid ascospores produced by meiosis then mitosis.
