Description

The picture on the left shows how the stamens are fused with the tepals of Gladiolus gandavensis which belongs to the family Iridacaea. This adnation forms a hypanthium.
On the right is a cross section of the inferior ovary of Gladiolus gandavensis. Its placentation is axile with 3 locules containing ovules. So it has 3 carpels fused together.
