Description
This picture shows the flower of Pentas lanceolata which belongs to family Rubiaceae. The corolla of the flower is in salverform with 5 petals fused in a tube that spreads at open end. It contains 5 epipetalous stamens which hide and fuse to the hairy petal tube, and a pistil that separates in two stigmas at the end. When cut around the base of sepals, nectary glands are shown in between the sepals. Also, inferior ovary is shown with axile placentation of 2 carpels.
