Description
Syngenesious stamen refers to the fusion of anthers. The situation here is demonstrated by Youngia japonica, a common roadside weed found in Hong Kong. Another remarkable feature is the reduction of calyx into pappus. This plant contains only ligulate flower, but not tubular flower. Therefore, the presence of tubular, ligulate or both flowers serves as a feature that helps differentiate plants within the Family Asteraceae.
