Description

Syzygium jambos, also called ‘Rose apple’, is a member of the Family Myrtaceae. It is commonly found in Hong Kong. They are evergreen trees and exstipulate. They have simple, opposite leaves with glandular dots and intramarginal veins near the leaf margin.
For flowers, they are bisexual, with a single pistil and numerous stamens. They have 4 petals and 4 sepals. They have inferior ovary covered by hypanthium. For fruits, they produce berries that are edible and their fruiting period is around May to June.
