Description

The image shows the structures of zygomycete Rhizopus sp. in the course of the asexual stage. Those structures include the sporangium, columella and sporangiophore.

-Sporangium is a sac-like structure in which spores are produced.

-Columella is the central column of sterile tissue within a spore-bearing structure.

-Sporangiophore is a specialized hypha which bears a sporangium.
