Description
Schizocarp is a dry fruit, "splitting into its one-seeded portions (i.e. mericarps)" (The New Plant Glossary). It can be classified as dehiscent or indehiscent fruit, depends on whether dehiscence is defined as "breaking open of pericarp to release seeds", because some of the fruit (e.g. in carrot) the splitting process does not release the seed (=indehiscent).

Did you mean "Kew" rather than "New"?
Can you give more detail about what happens "In carrot"?
