Description

African violets belongs to the family Gesneriaceae (苦苣苔科). It has bisexual actinomorphic flowers with fused petals. The number of petals is 4 or 5 or their multiples. The no. of sepals is 4/5 depends on the no. of petals. It also has a superior ovary with 4 or 5 stamens surrounding it.
