Description

From the side view, it can been seen that the two outermost whorls of this flower are very similar,which suggests this flower has two whorl of tepal. From the top view, it can been seen that Gladiolus gandavensis has no special insect guide and it is actinomorphic. After removing the tepals, it can be seen that the androecium and gynoecium are not adnated. From the L.S. of the ovary, it shows that this flowers has a inferior ovary and a axile placentation. From the c.s. of the ovary, it shows that the ovary has 3 locules and the ovules are attached at to centre, which suggests axile placentation also.
